I did something I’ve never done before.
Ailianna’s senior session has been scheduled for several months, so when she told me she had a conflict with her volleyball team on the day of her photos, I offered to switch it to a morning session. Being October and knowing how tricky the weather can be, I knew we had to grab the opportunity of a sunny day while we had it.
But I will admit, I was a little intimidated. I know all the locations and lighting like the back of my hand. It’s what photographers do, become experts at light, but capturing these same locations in morning light? I’d never done that before.
So we went out to Fort Steilacoom on Friday morning. The high clouds 🌤 put a beautiful filter over the sun for about 45 minutes and created the most gorgeous light, so we ran with it and got some amazing photos.
Not to mention Ailianna is amazing and she ROCKED her session. But then, Ailianna is not new to my camera, I was lucky enough to photograph her 13th birthday session almost 5 years ago. What a talented and amazing woman she is.
