One of my favorite things in the fall is hosting dozens of families for their annual photo sessions. It’s a time to shift gears away from the busy senior season and get caught up with my clients and all they have going on in their busy lives. This year was unlike other. After a year of all of us being cooped up at home and social distancing, I could see a closeness to my families this year that was so tender and loving. There was so much laughing, storytelling and hugs- it was by far my favorite year (even masked up behind the camera and social distancing)!
The other feeling that I saw in my families was hope. After everyone pushing through such a challenging year, I was humbled by how positive and hopeful everyone was. It was the little things like eating at a favorite restaurant or going to school that they were looking forward to in the coming year. If there is one thing that this year has taught us, it is not to take anything for granted. To make each day count and embrace the people we love. As this unprecedented year comes to a close, my prayer for all of you is that the magic of the holidays embraces you and shows you so much love and appreciation. That you are able to be close to the ones you care about and enjoy all your favorite traditions and moments- even if in a different way. Merry Christmas everyone and here’s to a New Year and all the adventures that lie ahead.
