Destination Sacramento: 2020 Elite Senior Shoot

A couple weeks ago me and a few of my 2020 Elite Seniors headed down to sunny Sacramento for a fun, destination photo shoot! I will look for just about any reason to head to a sunny and warm location and was down there attending a photography conference and invited my girls to come along. What better way to travel than with some of my amazing Seniors! We made a whole day of if and partnered with another photographer in the Northern California area, Samantha Grant Photography. Samantha and I are friends and peers and have been wanting to get our girls together for a photo shoot for a long time. This was a perfect opportunity to do that and we had a day of fun, sightseeing, and lots of photos!

We started the day with a casual, western themed photo session in Old Town Sacramento. Old Town has lots of fun, western style buildings, shops, and backdrops just perfect for the theme. In the afternoon we headed over to the Sacramento State Capital building for a Gatsby-style photo shoot and the girls looked stunning with professional hair and makeup by Lorena Cuellar. Finally, we ended the day at sunset on the famous Sacramento Tower Bridge. The day was so much fun. The girls had a great time working together, getting to know each other and getting the chance to get lots of beautiful pictures. It’s fun to work with different photographers because each one of us sees things slightly different and the girls get a large variety of images. It was a lot of work to prepare, scout out locations, and pull everything together, but it was so worth it. As the sun went down on the day, the girls were giddy from all they had experienced and we all parted ways smiling, excited and happy (and absolutely exhausted). What a fantastic experience and a great way to provide an experience that not many seniors get. Thanks Shelby, Teyah, Maddie and their parents for all the travel and coordination. Thank you Lorena for doing the girl’s hair and makeup especially when you get a call from a random, Seattle stranger at the last minute looking for help.
